A £2.5 million entrepreneurial scheme was officially launched by the University of Bradford last month.
The Bradford-Renduchintala Enterprise Ecosystem (BREE) aims to bring together business ideas from University staff and students, as well as the people of Bradford, and offer them industry leading expert support.
Made possible thanks to a £1.25 million donation from former student Murthy Renduchintala, and matched by the University, the ecosystem aims to take businesses from concept through to reality.
“Together with the University’s vision to be the place to be to make a difference, BREE is going to help us accelerate that. It’s really going to help ensure that our research makes a difference through innovating and helping people to innovate in their startups and as they grow their own businesses.”
Shirley Congdon – Vice Chancellor
Video production company Deadline Digital created a film to mark the start of the ecosystem, which was broadcast to the public in Bradford’s Centenary Square following BREE’s official launch.
Deadline Digital Video Journalist, Tobias Gavelle, said:
“It was great to be able to talk to those who will be running BREE, as well as those who the ecosystem is designed to support. I’m hoping that the film we produced with the University will go on to inform the people of Bradford about BREE, and help the scheme be as successful as possible.”
