Videos produced by Barnsley-based production company, Deadline Digital, were played to an audience of hundreds at a huge regional schools conference.
The Future Forward gathering was Northern Star Academies Trust’s (NSAT) first in-person annual conference and was attended by almost 800 staff members from across its 15 Yorkshire schools.
“We wanted to reinforce the sense of one team providing high quality education – both inside the classroom and outside it, keeping the school infrastructure running. The NSAT people profiles that Deadline produced were part of illustrating that.”
Peter Addison-Child – Chief Operating Officer, NSAT
The purpose of the event was to launch the trust’s five year strategy, Future Forward, for 2025-30. Attendees included teachers, teaching assistants, pastoral support staff, site staff and caretakers, IT technicians, catering staff business managers and admin teams.

The event was bookended by montage videos produced by Deadline Digital, including footage from across six of the Trust’s schools.
Throughout the conference, four one-minute case study films showing a day in the life of various staff members were also played.
“The event was only four hours long, so we needed to pack a lot in and keep it moving at pace. The video was an excellent way to keep changing direction and holding attention to cover a lot of ground. The result was well produced, engaging content which helped tell our story.”

Deadline Digital found cost effective ways to get the most from our limited budget and delivered on time against a challenging timetable which had no room for slippage. We would certainly work with them again.”

He added the event was warmly received, with the quality production values cited as a reason for over 80% of attendees requesting the conference return next year.
Across five filming days in December 2024 Deadline Digital’s production crews were able to capture content for the montage and case study films, including interviews with staff members and footage of students from a range of demographics and geographical areas in West and North Yorkshire.
An additional video was edited by Deadline using footage of students captured by teachers and staff members from across NSAT schools. The end result was a punchy, snappy video to be used at both the conference and across NSAT’s social media channels.
“Being able to tell the stories of the different staff members across the NSAT schools was an immensely rewarding experience. Knowing the videos were played to such a large audience and were so well received was great to hear and I’m pleased we were able to highlight some of the excellent work being done by the NSAT staff.”
